For students entering school, a laptop computer isn’t any longer a luxury. In today’s mobile world, pupils will do best with a notebook that is little enough for traveling, but strong enough to manage the jobs related to high level professors. Two factors budget and durability remain significant for consumers to discover which computer will endure four years of dorm life. Analyzers considered distinct budget concerns and broke the list down into cost groups of less than $500 and more than $1400. It is necessary to notice that a student’s major will play a part in their selection of notebooks. An English major who browses the internet and composes lots of papers, for instance, will have totally distinct storage, images and RAM conditions than an engineering student who runs strong design applications.

The VivoBook E403SA performed relatively well on the Geekbench 3 general functionality evaluation, where it earned a 3,341. That is greater than the Center i3-powered Asus F555L and on a level with the Pentium N3700-powered Inspiron 14 3000. Nevertheless, this system fell behind the Center i3-powered Satellite Radius 14 and the Center i5-powered Ideapad 300S. That is within the variety of its rivals, which sport 500GB, 5,400-rpm hard drives. The VivoBook’s budget cost additionally revealed in our OpenOffice evaluation, where it needed 13 minutes and 31 seconds to fit 20,000 names and addresses. The Asus VivoBook E403SA remains cool up top, but you will feel some heat if you use it in your lap. The touchpad and keyboard didn’t violate our 95-degree relaxation brink. In each cost group, the notebooks are rated by Smart Rating, a rating system based on specs, pro evaluations and screen and measurements thoughts. In the instance of of a tie, the computers are recorded according to cost. For its type, the VivoBook additionally has a fairly precise screen, scoring a 2.3 in the Deltae evaluation.

The Ideapad 300S and typical thin-and-light laptop glow brighter. The VivoBook’s panel supplies adequate viewing angles, as colour washed out just marginally when I transferred more than 45 degrees to the left or right. The VivoBook E403SA’s computer keyboard provides a solid typing encounter, with no of the annoying flex we frequently find on budget notebooks. The information specialists at SpecOut, a consumer technology research website powered by Graphiq, developed a list of the top 25 notebooks for pupils entering school in 2016. Every entry on the list is a present version. The Asus VivoBook E403SA has a satiny, brushed-aluminum lid that appears that it goes on a laptop that costs twice as much. The notebook’s keyboard deck may seem like it is made of the exact same stuff, but it is composed of a metal-looking plastic, which did a great job of supporting my wrists. Two little tabs that protrude from the rear of the hinge may seem strange, but they quit the lid from scratching against flat surfaces. Asus’ slogan declares the business to be In search of unbelievable, and it may have found its goal with the $399 VivoBook E403SA.

Not only does this 14-inch laptop offer an exceptionally light and superior design, but additionally, it boasts excellent battery life and a sharp, 1080p screen. Asus’ notebook does get a little warm on the underside and undermines a bit on screen brightness, but this sub-$400s powerful build quality, sound functionality and extensive collection of characteristics make it one of the greatest deals in technology. Asus gave the VivoBook 403SA lots of interfaces for a budget machine, including one that is a rarity at this price. On the left side of the laptop, you will locate its HDMI, USB 3.0 and USB Type-C interfaces, along with a headphone jack. A security lock slot, a USB 2.0 interface and an SD memory reader sit on the notebook’s right side. The VivoBook’s USB Type-C interface supports both data transfer and charging provided that you purchase a Type C charger but it does not do video out, leaving that function to the committed HDMI interface. None of the opponents we have named offers a Type C interface at all. The VivoBook E403SA’s 14-inch, 1920 x 1080 screen is not the brightest or most precise on the marketplace, but it looks amazing when you consider the notebook’s cost.

Not many sub-$600 notebooks have total-High Definition displays, while many have low res 1366 x 768 panels. as soon as I saw the 1080p Captain America: Civil War preview on the VivoBook’s screen, skin tones were not as warm as they should have been, but Iron Man’s crimson and golden armour depicted correctly. Asus boasts that the VivoBook features SonicMaster-improved audio, but I discovered the sound unimpressive and muddied until I altered one of its presets. Out of the box, the notebook made enough volume to fill a moderate-size living room with a fair version of Desiigner’s Panda, interpreting its bass gently and muffling vocals. This notebook carries enough functionality under the hood for strong multitasking. I fixed this issue by opening the preinstalled ICEpower AudioWizard audio utility and shifting its setting from the default option Music style to Picture manner.

Asus VivoBook E403SA

After that tweak, both music and trailers seemed more complete and precise, the drums and vocals on Panda seemed clearer, and the track’s powerful bass returned. If you take the VivoBook E403SA about, you can probably leave your charger at home. Asus’ notebook continued a total 9 hours and 2 minutes on the Notebook Mag Battery Test, which calls for constant web surfing over Wifi. Asus has given the laptop a couple of proprietary utilities, just some of which are useful. The Asus Glorious Technology screen adjustment program contains an Eye Care setting to fix the panel to emit warmer colours which could help some folks sleep simpler, but its Graphic and Tru2Life video clarity settings didn’t generate remarkable progress. Asus WinFlash gives users an interface to upgrade the BIOS, and On-Screen Display allows you to enable and disable visual signals for when styles are shifted. The Inspirons operation art is dependent upon which version you select. There are multiple settings of the Dell Inspiron 17 accessible, but just one that I advocate for the budget-minded. That settings is the $448 version with an i3 chip, 6GB of RAM, Intel HD images and a 750GB hard drive. With these internals, the Inspiron 17 is strong enough to manage tons of browser tabs, High Definition video, big spreadsheets and documents, multitasking, games played on lower strength settings and even light video editing.

The energy-saving central processing unit and user-replaceable, six-cell battery join to offer around a few hours of battery life. Thats not spectacular, but it is fairly great for a desktop replacement. The VivoBook E403SA packages enough functionality under the hood for strong multitasking. Asus equipped the only settings of this laptop with an Intel Pentium N3700 cpu, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of eMMC storage, but I saw no slowdown during my testing. The only strikes against this system are an underside that runs somewhat hot and loudspeakers that need adjustment to discover the best sound. If you need more functionality in this budget, you are going to must pay for it, as the Core i5-powered Ideapad 300S costs $131 more, and offers considerably less battery life. Overall, the VivoBook E403SA is among the finest notebook worth out there and an excellent alternative for anyone who is on a budget. Scoring an excellent notebook for $500 or less used to mean waiting for Black Friday or purchasing a netbook or other low powered machine that chokes when requested to go beyond fundamental jobs.

Now there are lots of adequate notebooks accessible at this low cost. Nevertheless , as soon as I reviewed notebooks for the laptop for under 500 dollars 2017, I needed something more than adequate. I needed fast operation, an operating system without unnecessary limitations, an excellent screen, adequate battery life and a chassis that’sn’t overly heavy or chunky relative to the size. One of the most notable budget notebooks accessible right now, the Dell Inspiron 17 meets those criteria best. Accessible multiple settings, the $448 version with Intels third generation Core i3 chip supplies that balance of power and cost. With sub-$500 notebooks, the most significant features to focus on are hardware quality and functionality, since this is where you should compromise least. This is not the most superior stuff, of course, but the Inspiron does not feel cheap or poorly made. And for a budget notebook with a big 17.3-inch screen, its astonishingly slick at 1.17 inches thick and comparatively light at 5.8 pounds. Most desktop replacements weigh at least 6 pounds, generally closer to 7. If you need a big screen plus a thin and light design, youll must seek out considerably higher price laptop.

Dell Inspiron 17

The Inspiron 17’s size has another advantage: lots of full size interfaces and an integrated optical drive. As a result of size, you will receive a full amount pad on the right. The touchpad is open and receptive, so pulling off multitouch and Windows 8 gestures does not need attempt; significant on a notebook without a touchscreen, since it makes browsing Windows 8 simpler. Though it will not come with touch abilities, the 17.3-inch screen is still remarkable. The pixel density is only enough for fonts to remain sharp and to take great advantage of the display property. Touchscreens arent unheard of in the sub-$500 marketplace, but they often be smaller because of the expense. If touch is a requirement, take a look at the option below. The Inspiron 17 is a bigger notebook, which not everyone needs, even if it’s light for the size. If this’s a dealbreaker, Dell offers an excellent choice in the Inspiron 15. Here you’ll locate many of precisely the same characteristics which make the Inspiron 17 great, including an appealing and not overly hefty layout, comfortable computer keyboard, and strong configuration choices that are not overly pricey. That may be an appropriate tradeoff for people that need a notebook they can carry around more readily.

laptops under $300

And given the high likely of said notebook being lost, mistreated or abused, youll need something that doesnt break the bank. Although the layout is neither as well thought out or as sleek as the contest, its hopeless to contend with the worth of the Kogan Atlas 14. For only $359 , it offers specs and characteristics that are superior to higher priced options: a speedier central processing unit, 802.11ac radio receiver, support a 500GB HDD, and a complete HD 14-inch display with fairly adequate viewing angles. Sure, its not high end, but its better than anything else weve seen at this cost. Whatever the internal spec, we adore the EeeBook E402MAs outside fashion.

This is one amazing looking notebook, featuring a display with a small resolution but clear visuals, an outstanding, comfortable computer keyboard with lots of palm-rest space and a big and receptive touchpad. There are two USB ports to work with, along with an Ethernet LAN interface and a VGA interface along with the HDMI interface. There are, naturally, sacrifices made for the cost. The central processing unit isnt just a power station, and it just uses Intel HD images. Theres a little too much junkware pre-packed, the Ethernet interface is of the slowest type, and the Wifi support is quite limited it only operates in the 2.4GHz band and at a maximum of 72Mbps, which is rather poor in this day and age. However, it a strong full size notebook, with an excellent design and enough performance to get regular jobs done.

To that end, we determined to take a gander at a package of low cost lappies appropriate for children . The products contain conventional notebooks, convertables and detachable with displays ranging from 11.6 to 14 inches, and we planned for notebooks under $500. All but two of the notebooks under cost less than that, and some are accessible for as little as $300. The greatest news is that we were quite happily surprised at the quality of low cost notebooks on offer. None of the products below appeared or felt affordable, and the built quality was astonishingly great across the board. The days of getting an complete clunker seem to be behind us. Needless to say, you cant expect wonders. While the layouts and built qualities were astonishingly great, you cant anticipate power station internals. By and large, these are devices that are just no great for 3D games and characteristic low-rate Celeron chips and minimal memory.

Wireless support, even where 802.11ac is accessible, tends to be of the minimalist form. Not an individual merchandise under supports MIMO, by way of example, and some 802.11n products limit out at only 72Mbps. Still, for cloud-centric operations, they proved more than able and plenty enough for school children to create, research and convey as they want to. Its very light and honestly quite the looker in silver and crystal. The drawback to this lightness is that the apparatus can feel only a little flimsy, particularly the computer keyboard half but we suppose thats the price you pay for reducing weight. The largest drawback is the lack of rigidity in the display hinge, which can begin to wobble in notebook style with the smallest provocation; even vigorous typing or touchpad click will have it trembling.

The display and keyboard are otherwise wonderful notably the display, which is incredibly receptive to reach input signal. Actually, the general ergonomic layout is superb, of the same quality as a considerably more high-priced notebook. Like the most of the apparatus here, yet, its internals arent going to place the world on fire. There are two routine USB ports in addition to one of many new sort-C USB 3.1 interfaces. Apart from our worries about the durability and equilibrium of the display hinge, the Transformer Book Flip is an excellent merchandise. However, that was shoving the notebook as tough as it can go, and for more reasonable use, Acer asserts the apparatus can continue up to eight hours on just one charge of It gives aggregate scores for those evaluations, and weve listed the results for the overall PassMark Rating and also the CPU, 3D Images and Disc score. Higher is better.

All devices were analyzed with the mains electricity connected, which enabled the Intel chips to go into Turbo mode. Running the standards on battery power frequently generates lower results. The touchpad is, in addition, a little less sensitive than we’d enjoy, although we found the computer keyboard completely good for high speed typing. Its more significant than the ASUS EeeBook, but additionally, it feels a lot more solid, with a suitably rigid hinge and hefty plastic casing. We examined this device under Windows 8.1 and as expected, it performed somewhat better than the remainder of the contest particularly in CPUMark, thanks to its first-class central processing unit. Nevertheless, its 3D performance was a little a let down. This is still not a notebook you could play games on. Most of the notebooks we looked at for this attribute still run good old Windows, most having been updated to the new Windows 10.

acer laptop

Programs using the new UI introduced in Windows 8 will operate just fine in that way, but just like in Windows 8, many conventional desktop programs dont enjoy tablet PC style so substantially. Buttons are generally too little to target with a finger, onscreen computer keyboards cover fundamental parts of programs and context menus and the like can be difficult to get. Just be warned your old programs may not function that well in tablet mode. HP made quite several waves when it first declared its brilliantly coloured Stream notebooks. Here, we’d what many of us had waited for: an eminently affordable, trendy seeming cloud-centric notebook with an excellent build quality and superb attributes for children. The Stream has more competition now than when it first started, but its still a fantastic buy.

When it comes to specs, it really tips similar-priced notebooks somewhat. Its Celeron 2840 central processing unit is a touch more rapid than that of the Acer Aspire One, as an example, and in addition, it boasts an High Definition webcam and 802.11ac support up to 433Mbps. To get a notebooks cost under $300, one has to make sacrifices. Of particular note is the stunning layout a thin and light shell reminiscent of superior notebooks. The display, despite its small resolution, is sharp and big enough for most common use. The computer keyboard is comfortable to use and quick, and the touchpad is capacious for a notebook with an 11.6-inch display. If youre trying to find a more traditional notebook than some of the little-screen portables, the ASUS EeeBook 402MA offers both fashion and portability. With a 14-inch display and a unique fashion, the EeeBook 402MA offers lots of bang for your dollar.

Computer configurations change, with versions with distinct central processing units and internal hard drives up to 1TB. The particular version we examined and recorded the specs for, the WX0032T, really breaks the $500 rule, but there are variations of the E402MA with lesser chips and smaller hard drives that readily make it under the brink. Its somewhat larger and chunkier than the Aspire One, yet really, its almost as hefty as the 14-inch ASUS EeePC. As with all the apparatus that come with simply 32GB of storage, youre quite hard up for storage space on the HP Stream 11, having merely about 14GB of accessible storage once Windows 10 is accounted for.

Happily, the notebook does come with a one year subscription to Office 365, along with 1TB of online storage for 12 months, supplied by HP. A couple other programs are provided by HP, but nothing worth actually keeping on the system. Even with some remarkable contest, the HP Stream continues to be an excellent merchandise, and among the greatest worth back-to-school options available now. Its definitely worth contemplating. To begin with, its a detachable, a 10.1-inch tablet computer that docks with a computer keyboard foundation. That foundation, in addition to including an excellent computer keyboard and receptive touchpad, additionally contains two USB 2.0 ports and an additional battery that shoves the apparatus complete battery life to an impressive 15 hours. Without it, the graphics tablet will continue about nine.

The computer keyboard battery will charge automatically if the graphics tablet is attached and charging. The meat of the apparatus is in the graphics tablet, and that includes 4GB of memory, a quad core Atom central processing unit and 64GB of storage 14GB of which is required by Windows 10. The tablet itself has a total High Definition 10.1-inch display, which does feel a little too modest when attached to the computer keyboard. The ample bezel could have readily adapted another inch of display size. Having said that, the display is amazing, and the touch components are tactile and reactive. Even as a pure graphics tablet, its a fantastic merchandise. In tablet mode, in addition, it weighs only 550 grams, which is comparable to an Android graphics tablet or an iPad. The Atom chip that drives it’snt incredibly strong, but was more than enough for internet browsing and similar light operations.

Lenovo Thinkpad E560

The Lenovo ThinkPad E560 is aimed at small-scale, value-conscious businesses that want machines with tons of ports and strong functionality paired with long battery life and a comfortable computer keyboard. The configuration we tested packages a Core i7 chip, 8GB of RAM and a 190GB solid-state drive, along with a 1080p screen and AMD Radeon R7 M370 images. The ThinkPad E560 does not offer the same degree of durability as some rival notebooks, and its display could be more lively. But overall, it is a fairly great company laptop. Those amounts do not seem too different, but the pushback on the Aspire E5 is deep. The keys reach rock bottom the moment I pressed them, but felt rigid each time I started again. It does not help that the layout bends, also.

I can not envision needing to sort for long periods of time, which could be a issue if you want the machine mainly for word processing. While it is by no means the most powerful notebook out there, it manages everything up to and including midrange gaming easily. When it comes to raw power, the Aspire E5 scored 5,663 on the Geekbench 3 evaluation, which assesses a machine’s overall operation. The HP Notebook 15 scored just a little higher, but the defeat the Aspire E5 handily. In the latter’s case, that is not astonishing, since the F555UA uses an Intel Core i7 central processing unit, but the Notebook 15’s central processing unit is identical to the Aspire E5’s.

The inside of the notebook features a 15.6-inch 1080p display, a complete computer keyboard with a number pad, a fingerprint reader, a cherry-coloured TrackPoint nub and a touchpad with red accents on the buttons. The ThinkPad symbol is stamped a second time on the palm rest. The Acer Aspire E5-575G-53VG isn’t the only adequate notebook selling for under $600, but it’s among the few that offers rewarding gaming chops. On the other hand, a soso display, shallow keys and an uncomfortable touchpad drag the encounter down a peg or two, but these are exasperation, not deal breakers. The Aspire E5 does what users will expect, and a little more, making it worth a look. When I two-finger scrolled in Google Chrome and three-finger swiped between programs, I’d out of the blue reach the border of the surfaces. On the other hand, the touchpad never had a problem comprehending my gestures. The E560 additionally offers its comfy and exact TrackPoint nub, situated between the G, H and B keys. With a 2.5-GHz Intel Core i7-6500U chip, 8GB of RAM and a 192GB SSD, the ThinkPad E560 is not a power station, but it supplies more than enough oomph for office jobs. But opening an eighth tablature introduced some interim. The ThinkPad E560 attained a score of 6,333 on Geekbench 3, a standard that measures general operation.

That is lower than the 15-inch-notebook average of 7,430 but higher than the Center i5-6200U-powered Tecra A50 and the Center i5-6200U-powered HP Notebook 15. The Dell Latitude E5570 and its Center i7 6820HQ blew away its competitors. Given that the E560 is targeted at small and medium-size companies, it makes sense that it does not support vPro for remote direction. There is also an optional fingerprint reader, which I discovered was simple to set up and use with Windows Hello for fast logins. The ThinkPad E560’s 15.6-inch, 1080p display does not impress me. The blue and yellow neon signs in a Nepalese alleyway did not pop at all. If you have seen one ThinkPad, you have seen them all and the E560 is no exception. It is a big, smooth, black-plastic rectangle with curved borders. The lid features Lenovo’s symbol on the lower left and the ThinkPad symbol on the top right. Unlike some of Lenovo’s other recent machines, the E560 just comes in the business’s hallmark black. When we analyzed with our colorimeter, the notebook copied an notable 143 percent of the sRGB colour gamut.

That is miles ahead of the Notebook 15, which clock in at 63 and 64 percent, respectively, along with the 89-percentage group average. Sadly, in this situation, the gamut amount does not tell the narrative. In practice, the display is fairly boring, with only 195 nits of brightness. Considering the class average is 250 and competitions like the Notebook 15 are substantially brighter, the E5’s panel makes for some unsatisfactory video. I saw an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and was regularly underwhelmed by the flat reds and yellows of the characters’ uniforms, along with the normally grey pallor of the entire boat. The Aspire E5 made the typically encouraging Enterprised seem like the least interesting boat in Starfleet. The ThinkPad E560 has a interface for just about everything. On the right, you will find a headphone/mic jack, a CD/DVD drive, a USB 3.0 interface and a power jack. A SD card reader is situated on the underside lip on the front of the notebook. Other than a spill-resistant keyboard, the ThinkPad E560 does not have any specific durability characteristics. It lacks the MIL-SPEC testing you’ll discover on competing systems or even Lenovo’s other offerings. That means no protection against shocks, vibrations and excessive temperatures.

The affordable ThinkPad 13, by comparison, is MILSPEC examined. The E560’s display copies just 73 percent of the sRGB colour gamut, which is below the 15-inch notebook class average of 86 percent. Likewise, the Aspire E5 lagged behind in a productivity evaluation to see the length of time it’d take to fit 20,000 names to addresses. On the other hand, the Aspire E5 outperformed both other systems on the File Transfer Evaluation, which calls for duplicating 4.97GB of information. Both the Notebook 15 reached a speed of approximately 30 Mbps, while the Aspire E5 soared ahead, with 73 Mbps. One of the Aspire greatest attributes is its Nvidia 940MX distinct graphics card. Featuring 2 GB memory, this card isn’t the latest and best version in Nvidia’s toolbox, but it elevates a reasonably regular work machine into a pretty decent gaming rig. The truth is, if you mean to do any gaming, the Aspire E5’s distinct graphics card is a tremendous edge; neither the Laptop nor the possesses one. Even if they are not brilliant, the colors on the E560’s panel are exact, as evidenced by the 0.8 Deltae colour score.

The E560 bested notebooks with conventional hard drives, like the Tecra A50, which reached a transfer rate of 30.47MBps, and the Notebook 15, which reach 29.57 MBps. In our OpenOffice spreadsheet macro evaluation, it took the E560 4 minutes and 6 seconds to complement 20,000 names and addresses. That is quicker than the group average of 5:20, but the Latitude E5570 finished the job in 3:29. Both the Tecra A50 and the HP Notebook 15 took 4:30 to complete the evaluation. The display is on the subdued side, quantifying 230 nits. I was pleasantly surprised to hear loud, clear sound emanating from the loudspeakers on a midrange company laptop like the E560. Also, the Aspire E5’s gamut amount will not translate to great precision. The machine scored a Deltae malfunction evaluation of 3.26, where closer to zero is better. To be honest, that score bests the 4.44 group average and the 3.5 showing by the Notebook 15, but falls behind the 2.3 evaluation on the F555UA. After testing and analyzing the colour gamut, my coworkers and I were surprised the display seemed so wrong.

Nevertheless, we did all agree the colours seemed drastically different with the display leaned even somewhat backwards or forwards, and that when seen head on, everything was somewhat washed out. Chalk it up to the low brightness and high Deltae score, but the display is simply not amazing. The Aspire E5’s display still gets the job done, for the most part. Considering the display’s abundant gamut, though, I’d hoped for much better. The preinstalled Dolby Audio program contains presets for movies, music, gaming and vocals. It begins on the music setting by default, and I discovered it was best to simply leave that placing on all the time. Conexant’s SmartAudio software is, in addition, contained, but all it lets you do is alter the volume. I had happily spend my working hours typing on the E560’s computer keyboard. With 1.5 millimeters of traveling and 53 grams of force needed to press, Lenovo’s keys are comfy and reactive.

On the 10fastfingers.com typing test, I sped along at my typical 110 words per minute and regular 2 percent error rate. As a result of its distinct AMD Radeon R7 M370 GPU with 2GB of VRAM, the E560 packages more of a graphical impact than other mainstream company notebooks. Nevertheless, it is still not up for extreme gaming or graphic design. On the 3DMark Fire Strike gaming standard, the E560 notched a score of 1,695. If you have a need for a small business laptop with a battery you’ll be able to rely on, the E560 is your most suitable choice. The system lasted 7 hours and 50 minutes on the Notebook Mag Battery Test, which calls for constantly internet browsing over Wifi.

That is nearly 2 hours more than the class average of 5:55. Additionally, it outlasted the Notebook 15’s 5:51 and the Tecra A50’st 5:59. With a battery life of 7:17, the Latitude E5570 came closest to finding the E560. The ThinkPad E560 is light on applications; it contains a smattering of useful tools but also some unwanted bloat, like Twitter, Candy Crush Soda Saga and Flipboard. Lenovo-branded applications applications contain Companion Solution Center and a settings program. There is also a package of multimedia playback and DVD-burning applications, including CyberLink PowerDVD, ISO Viewer and PowerProducer 5.5. If you dish out a only few hundred dollars for the Aspire E5-575G-53VG, you may also keep your wallet open for an excellent pair of headphones to go with it. The loudspeakers are passable, but I could not envision using them for anything but streaming video with one buddy. The loudspeakers are effective at generating reasonably loud sound, at least. I could hear the tunes certainly all the way across our testing laboratory, but blasting them at high volumes caused a small distortion.

More serious than that, however, was the deep deficiency of bass and the nearly piercing concentrate on treble. While lyrics and high voices were clear, lower tones got muddled and blown a lot of the pleasure out of both music and dialogue. The respectably sized, 4.1 x 3.0-inch touchpad on the Aspire E5 seems tempting enough, but appearances can be deceiving. Touch this computer keyboard, and you’ll discover that it is rubbery and completely too immune. Transferring the cursor across the background requires forever, and clicking felt superficial. At least the touchpad managed two-, three and four-fingered gestures with fidelity. The computer keyboard is the actual offender here. With just 1.65mm of key journey and 58-g actuation, these keys sound totally passable by productivity-notebook standards; the F555UA is similar, while the Notebook 15 is considerably shallower. Amounts can be deceptive, though, as typing on this machine was deeply uneasy.
